29 JANUARY 2015
Firstly we hope everyone had a Merry Christmas & Happy New Year. It is now time to consider what sport you or your child will be playing over the winter period.
Registration are currently open & we will be in the clubrooms on Thursday nights from 7.00 pm – 8.30pm to take early bird payments and forms
However we will be holding a Registration day at Baxter SC clubrooms on Sunday February 15th from 11am till 1 pm.
Whilst I know that this seems early it is imperative that anyone who is considering playing in season 2015 registers at this time as this registration information is used to register teams with the governing bodies in March 2015. As always we can only submit viable team options, therefore if you wish to be play in the correct age group come down and register. All players are welcome to register on Thursday evenings if you are unable to attend registration day. Registration forms are available to download on the club website www.baxtersoccerclub.org.au
We have often heard or been asked why are the fees so high, well when you consider that soccer runs for nearly two school terms & includes a possible of 2 nights of training & a game day, it is not as expensive as other sports where fees are based on a 10 week period, and can even cost additional weekly fees. The fees that are paid by everyone at the club cover all the running costs associated with playing. So things such as gas, lights, electricity, pavilion & ground rental charged by Frankston City Council, team & player fees charged by governing bodies that include player & public liability insurance fees charged by governing bodies, including Bayside, FFV & FFA, charges to replace lost or worn out equipment , training balls, trophies, match balls & the cost to replace all kits as required, the referee fees & team sheet books for all teams from Under 12 are also covered hence the price rise when you start playing Juniors, it all adds up.
The club made a decision this year in conjunction with the coaches to change all teams training together on Thursday nights with an option to train a second night on a Tuesday to save on costs as well as for all committee members to be available to all members, bar, canteen, uniform, club room access as well as assistance with coaching from senior players for all members. Training times will be as follows:
|Under 6/7||5.00 - 6.00|
|Under 8/9||5.00 - 6.00|
|Under 10||5.00 - 6.00|
|Under 11||5.00 - 6.00|
|Under 13s-18s||5.30 - 7.00||6.00 - 7.00|
|Seniors||7.00 - 8.30||7.00 - 8.30|
The club is constantly looking for new ways to raise money so that we can keep costs passed onto members at a minimum. This is why we ask all members to actively take part in all fundraising that the club promotes, as all profits are put into the club & help keep the fees to a minimum. Please consider this during season 2015 as this will help set fees for future seasons.
In order to be transparent with all members we have included this season’s fee schedule.
Online registration will be available mid February via My Football Club. Once this has been set up a link will be posted on the club website & an email will be sent to all members. Please note this is not available to Bayside Seniors or our Under 6s – Under 10s.
Once you have registered all you need do is pay the applicable fees, this can be done via cheque to the mailbox as listed on the letterhead, cash payment either on Thursday nights or registration day, direct deposit to the club account (details below)
Fees for 2015 are
|Sub Juniors 6-7||$190|
|Sub Juniors (8 – 10)||$210|
|Juniors (11 - 18)||$370|
|Senior Men (FFV)||$420|
Anyone that has good, clean old boots / soccer uniform / shin pads bring along to registration day or training days as we have a charity bin from Reagan Milstein Foundation. The contents of this bin will be sent to children in need in Asia and South Pacific. Please ensure it has all been cleaned before placing into the bin. The bin will be placed just inside the clubrooms.
If you are not returning to Baxter SC in season 2015 please let us know ASAP via email to firstname.lastname@example.org so that you can be removed from our data base.

Osei-Ntim crowned Baxter's best
The peninsula clubs' awards wrap by Craig Mackenzie.
By Craig MacKenzie
Midfield powerhouse Frank Osei-Ntim stole the limelight at Baxter's presentation night by winning two major club awards.
The Ghanaian-born midfielder was named the State 5 South club's senior team best and fairest and also won the senior coach's award.
Those two trophies add to an impressive collection amassed during a playing career that started at primary school not long after he migrated to New Zealand with his family in the early 1990s.
Osei-Ntim played representative football for the Manawatu region before relocating to Melbourne in 1997.
He arrived at Baxter this year via Nunawading City, Croydon City Arrows and Monash University and his awards success was deserved recognition for an excellent debut season.
His stint at Nunawading was highlighted by winning best and fairest and most improved awards in the reserves before stepping up into the senior team and winning a best and fairest, young player of the year and players' player awards in the same season.
Osei-Ntim was married last year and took a year off football but fortunately for Baxter the 30-year-old had moved next to Baxter Park and the lure of playing proved too strong.
"Baxter is a great family club and I think we have a really bright future," he said.
"If we can keep the core group of senior players together and bring in another couple of players then I think we can really push for promotion next year."
Here are the major award winners for the main clubs in the Casey, Frankston and Peninsula areas:
Seniors Best and Fairest: Frank Osei-Ntim. Coach's Award: Frank Osei-Ntim. Players' Player: Owen Kilner. Most Improved: Oliver Pauliczek.
Reserves Best and Fairest: Dale Nicholson. Coach's Award: Brendan Norris. Players' Player: Dale Nicholson. Most Improved: Phil Caligiuri.
President's Award: Michelle Nicholson.
Under-18 Girls Best and Fairest: Carly Coventry. Top Scorers: Carly Coventry, Rebekah Foulds. Coach's Awards: Mia Winnell and Niki Newman.
